Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how the Class 58 Locomotive Group uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit class58loco.group.

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that websites can place on your computer, smartphone, tablet or other device.

They can be used for a number of purposes, including enabling website functionality, remembering preferences, maintaining shopping baskets, protecting website forms and understanding how visitors use a website.

How We Use Cookies

Our website may use both first-party cookies, which are set directly by our website, and third-party cookies associated with services used by the website.

We group the cookies and similar technologies used on our website into the following categories.

Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are required for essential functions of the website and cannot normally be disabled through our cookie controls.

They may be used to:

  • maintain your shopping basket;
  • allow you to log into your account;
  • maintain website sessions;
  • process checkout functions;
  • remember security-related information;
  • help protect the website against malicious or automated activity; and
  • remember choices that are necessary to provide a service you have requested.

Because these technologies are necessary to provide functions requested by you, they may not require consent under applicable cookie rules.

Analytics Cookies

We use Google Analytics to understand how people use the Class 58 Locomotive Group website.

Analytics information may help us understand matters such as:

  • how many people visit the website;
  • which pages are most frequently visited;
  • how visitors navigate through the website;
  • the general type of device or browser being used; and
  • how effectively different areas of the website are working.

Analytics cookies are not required for the basic operation of the website.

Where consent is required, these cookies will only be used after you have chosen to allow them through our cookie consent controls.

Security and Google reCAPTCHA

We use Google reCAPTCHA on parts of our website to help distinguish genuine users from automated systems and to protect forms against spam, abuse and malicious activity.

reCAPTCHA may process technical information about your device and interaction with the website and may use cookies or similar technologies as part of its security assessment.

Shopping Basket and Account Cookies

Our online shop needs to maintain certain information while you navigate the website.

For example, session cookies may be used to remember items placed in your shopping basket, keep you signed into your account and retain information required to complete checkout.

Without these cookies, important shop functions may not operate correctly.

Payment Processing

Payments made through the website are processed using Square.

When you proceed through the payment process, Square may use cookies or similar technologies required for payment processing, fraud prevention, security and any optional Square features you choose to use.

Square's own privacy and cookie information applies to its independent services and features.

Your Cookie Choices

Where our website uses cookies that require consent, you should be given the opportunity to accept or reject those cookies through our cookie consent controls.

Rejecting optional cookies should not prevent you from using the essential functions of our website.

You can also control and delete cookies using your web browser settings. Please note that blocking all cookies may prevent certain functions of the website, including account, shopping basket and checkout functions, from operating correctly.

Changing Your Choice

If the website provides a cookie preferences control, you can use it to review or change your choices.

You can also delete previously stored cookies through your browser. The exact method varies depending upon the browser and device you use.

Third-Party Services

Our website currently uses third-party services including:

  • Google Analytics – website usage analytics;
  • Google reCAPTCHA – website and form security; and
  • Square – online payment processing.

These organisations may process information in accordance with their own privacy and cookie policies.

Changes to this Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy where the technologies used on our website change or where legal or regulatory requirements are updated.

The current version will always be made available on this website.
